Production Built Home Nomination: The Hiller
The Hillier model, built on Ril Lake, ON, features expansive views from the main entry which invite you through the space and welcome you to the lake! The open-concept floor plan allows the complex vaulted ceilings to be prominently displayed. The exposed glulam posts and beams within the interior create an impressive proportion of space. The catwalk serves to thrust you into the incredible volume of space, while appreciating the panoramic vantage point.
The mixture of traditional gables and modern shed roof lines make this home unique and architecturally interesting both inside and out.
This home is symmetrical and beautifully balanced with a double height portico creating a dramatic street presence.
Two tones of grey-blue siding have been contrasted with black trim, windows and shutters. This colour combination is further enhanced with natural wood tones and stone work. This home has a dignified appearance that blends with the natural landscape.
The exterior colour palette is echoed within the interior of the home. The grey-blue of the siding repeats on all the interior doors, as does the warm natural wood tones within the flooring and millwork selections. Likewise, black accents recur in the lighting and plumbing selections, with touches of gold accents to add sophisticated glamour.
The asymmetrical fireplace clad with large slabs of porcelain tile bring a clean and modern aesthetic to this home. The exposed interior post and beam construction prominently showcases the structural elements of the home, creating awe inspiring volumes of space. Soffit lighting behind the natural timber gable-end pediments highlights these architectural features.
New Home Bathroom Nomination
Built on Drag Lake, ON, this custom design is the second award-nominated home entry. At 103 sqft, this small yet mighty primary ensuite features a double vanity, freestanding tub, custom tiled shower and toilet alcove, embraced in an atmosphere of luxurious serenity. The window provides a focal point that draws you in while the straight circulation makes efficient use of the space, allowing for each fixture to truly stand out.
The design of this master ensuite is intended to transport the clients away from their busy lives, into a retreat for their mind and body. The generous double vanity provides ample countertop and drawer space for the clients. The toilet alcove provides a degree of privacy from the rest of the bathroom functions.
The deep soaker tub is a stand-alone piece at the end of the room, drawing the homeowners into the space as an invitation to relax and unwind in a bubble bath.
The custom shower enclosure with full height glass reduces any visual barriers, allowing light to flow throughout the space. Finished with premium fixtures and fittings, this shower provide all of the necessities for clients to luxuriate themselves in me-time.
New Home Kitchen Nomination:
Also in the Drag Lake custom home, the kitchen space was nominated. At 160 sqft, this kitchen utilizes every square inch to its full potential and achieves gourmet status. The cabinetry has been designed to integrate seamlessly with a complete suite of Miele appliances, including a range, panel-ready fridge and dishwasher, built-in coffee maker and warming drawer.
The “L” shape configuration of this kitchen allows for a centre island placement with conversational seating. The ‘golden work triangle’ has been maintained and the compact footprint allows everything to be close at hand.
The homeowner’s love of entertaining was a main design consideration. Large groups of family and friends can gather in this space without feeling overcrowded due to the open plan layout and adjacency to the great room and dining room.
Our team is so proud to be nominated for these three awards categories and we are committed to continuing excellence in our industry.
